Description
ePA12-CF is a PA12 (nylon)-based material developed by eSUN and LUVOCOM, to which 15% carbon fibre has been added to improve its strength, rigidity and toughness. In many cases, ePA12-CF can even be used as a replacement for metal.
Unlike traditional nylon filaments, ePA12-CF has a lower water absorption rate and the dimensions of the printed parts are less affected by humidity and temperature.
ePA12-CF is also self-lubricating, wear-resistant and temperature-resistant - these properties make the material ideal for printing gears and parts that are exposed to high temperatures. The continuous use temperature can reach up to 120 °C, the short-term use temperature even up to 160 °C.
With surface resistivity less than 102Ω, ePA12-CF can be used as conductive and anti-static.

Notes on printing eSUN ePA12-CF
eSUN ePA12-CF needs to be dried before printing (For about 12 hours at 70℃) to get the best printing results.
The ePA12-CF line has strong rigidity and is not easy to bend. Excessive bending when feeding the filament should therefore be avoided as far as possible.
Because ePA12-CF is an abrasive material that causes increased wear of the nozzle and extruder gears, hardened steel nozzles or ruby nozzles are recommended for printing. In addition, if conditions permit, hardened steel extruder gears should be selected.

Prints fine and durable, but not dimensionally stable
Rated with 3 out of 5 stars.
Prints as easily as any PA12 with CF. Same very tough, very durable properties. But thickess isn't very stable. While printing a 80mm (height)x 150mm (width), 100mm (depth) part, a 80mmx150mm vertical wall that should be to be flat had variations about 1mm due to over/under-extrusion. I had to severely sand it to more-less match the model. This wasn't the case with other filaments PA-CF , so it's not the printer to blame.
For smaller prints should be ok, just done expect it to be precise. Was this rating helpful? (0) (0)

On my second roll
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
This product took some getting used to and tweaking of setting but once sorted its brilliant. You WILL need a filament dryer and it WILL need to be properly dry before every print to get consistent results. I would choose PA12 over PA6 everytime. PA6 absorbed too much moister over time so even though PA6 parts are good off the bed after two weeks they're flimsy and useless, this doesnt happen with PA12 (this product). I print with a 260 degrees hot end, 60 degree bed and I have to print at 95% flow. Dont be surprised if you need slightly odd settings. I also recommend a 0.6mm nozzle as this will take the pressure of the extruder. I'm about to order my second roll!
