Description
PT100 are high-temperature stainless steel sensors with high accuracy that you can now use on your E3D V6 HotEnd instead of a thermistor or thermocouple. PT100 are able to measure higher temperatures than thermistors - up to 500 ° C and are more accurate than thermistors and thermocouples in general.
The PT100 sensors are also very easy to use because they have a metal cartridge construction that is secured with a set screw and no longer requires fibreglass hoses or clamping washers.
The PT100 sensor fits into the E3D cartridge-style heating blocks.
Please note that a PT100 is not the same as a thermistor. If your electronics do not explicitly support RTD measuring devices, you need an amplifier board.
The Ultimaker 2 uses PT100 sensors as standard. With this sensor, you can connect your E3D hot-end and Ultimaker electronics without changes to the electronics or firmware of the Ultimaker 2.
