Description
The E3D Hemera - formerly Hermes - is the best extrusion system that E3D has ever manufactured. It combines the market-leading V6 hot end with a brand new filament drive to create a responsive direct drive extrusion system that offers unprecedented performance with flexible filaments.
Dual-Drive
For E3D Hemera, E3D opted for a dual drive arrangement made of hardened stainless steel, which offers enormous grip compared to single drive systems. In fact, filaments can be pushed with up to 10 kg of force. The secondary gear shaft is located on a movable, sprung idler wheel that allows the user to adjust the filament tension.
Compact, integrated system
E3D Hemera is a system of components that work together seamlessly as a single compact product. It has a custom motor based on a NEMA17, as well as its own faceplate design, which allows the user to be more comfortable, e.g. B. to install slots and produce a very compact system.
Filament extrusion like no other extruder
Hemera extrudes filaments like no other extrusion system. Only when you print ultra-flexible materials can you experience the full extent of filament delivery and reliability. This exceptional system also has a significant impact on the printing of rigid and semi-rigid materials such as PLA or nylon.
Assembly
Hemera offers practical T-slots for easy mounting on your printer as well as space for additional accessories, part fans and bed levelling probes.
Unique heatsink
The design of the Hemera heat sink ensures that airflow is directed up and away from both the Hot end and the heated bed, reducing the risk of warping and uneven tension in the printed part.
User-centred design
The interaction with Hemera is from above. To adjust the filament tension, the user simply turns a knurled screw and a cam slide mechanism with a captive nut compresses a spring and loads the tensioning pulley. The filament tension is increased by turning it clockwise and reduced by turning it counterclockwise. Simple.
If you need to disassemble Hemera for maintenance, you can easily access the internal mechanisms by removing the fan and loosening the two screws on the front panel. Full access allows parts to be cleaned and replaced even when filament is loaded. When you remove the front panel, the filament, the tension pulley and the spring become a clean unit.
Additional Information

Hemera
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
Bought specifically to print FilaFlex Shore 82. Arrived pre-assembled.
Will print all rigid filaments beautifully. Initially unusable with Filaflex 82A it jammed every time at all settings. Eventually solved by checking power supply to fan which was inadequate. Once a good 24v supply was used the Hemera works as advertised even with a soft TPU.Was this rating helpful? (4) (0)

Hemera
Rated with 4 out of 5 stars.
This thing is so good at extruting filament that it put a 150g blob of filament around my hot end and didn't stop until the print was finished. I only have to replace the the whole hotend, thermometer, heater cartridge und heater block. Only 4 out of 5 because it was not so easy to assemble

Not a good experience
Rated with 1 out of 5 stars.
I have had multiple issues with the heatbreak snapping and clogging as well as plastic parts melting. Customer service will find any way possible of voiding your warranty, in my case they voided it on the basis my silicon heat block cover wasn't one of theirs. And don't even think of adding a Noctua fan to make it considerably quieter than the loud stock fan because that will void it aswell. I've been 3D printing for over 10 years and I don't know what the hype is with the Hemera, there are much better extruder kits out there.
