Description
SFS V2.0 is a high-precision photoelectric filament sensor from Bigtreetech that provides error messages on the display when there are problems with the extruder, nozzle or filament and automatically pauses the printing process to avoid wasting filament. The sensor detects the following errors:
- Clogged nozzle,
- Running out of filament,
- “Knotted” filament,
- Faults or malfunctions on the extruder.
Real-time LED status display
SFS V2.0 is equipped with a coloured LED status display:
► Flashing blue light shows that printing is going smoothly.
► Constant red light shows that the filament is soon used up or broken - you are asked to react as quickly as possible.
► Constant blue light shows that the nozzle is either clogged, an error has occurred in the extruder, or the filament has become tangled - you are alerted to react as quickly as possible.
Bi-directional feeding
With Bi-Directional Feeding, you don't have to worry about the orientation of the sensor as it detects both filament directions. This means you can quickly install the sensor and position it flexibly and in a space-saving manner.
Mounting holes for easy installation
The SFS V2.0 has three mounting holes on the back. With a bracket, the sensor can be easily installed on a printer. Suitable for both Direct Drive and Bowden extruders.
Wide compatibility
The filament sensor supports all motherboards with I/O ports (Endstop, Filament Detection, BLTouch, Induction Sensor, etc.).

Very good but cable too short
Rated with 4 out of 5 stars.
I installed my BTT SFS 2 just above the spool holder on the top left corner. I had to design and print a new bracket but it works well.
My only complaint is that the cable is about 20cm too short. It would have been so easy to provide a cable of sufficient length but this minor problem spoiled it for meWas this rating helpful? (0) (1)

Works Great with klipper
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
When calibrated properly, it does its job well, already saved me from a couple of jams, and should pay itself in a couple of months :)
It also has smooth gears that don't add much drag to the filament. Was this rating helpful? (0) (0)

If I'm not mistaken, Octoprint runs on Marlin, so it should be ok. Their website mentions it's compatible with Marlin, Klipper and RRF.
